Exams
There will be six exams throughout the chemistry course; three each semester. Exams consist of the following:
With the exception of Exam VI, which will be taken in class on the last day of school in May 2022, all exams will be taken at home under parental supervision on the honor system. You may use a calculator. Each individual exam will specify if you are allowed to reference any other materials (periodic table, etc.)
Exam Re-Takes
In general, I do not allow anyone to re-take an exam. However, if you score below an 80%, I give the option to correct your answers and gain back half credit on the questions you missed to improve your grade.
- Matching vocabulary words to definitions
- Multiple choice questions
- Short answer questions that often involve calculations or balancing equations (all answers must have the correct number of significant figures).
- Essay questions (choose two out of three).
